About Little Old Me

Hello Friends! Welcome to my blog of random musings, photos and recommendations. If you know anything about me, you know that I’m not shy about sharing my thoughts and opinions.

My name is Debbie Zerbini, and I’m married to Robert Drum. We live in Crossville Tennessee with our three dogs – Dixie, Duncan and Dolce – and our three cats – Willa, Boone and Holly.

After what felt like an eternity working in corporate America for large technology and telecom companies, I’m enjoying retirement now. My husband Robert and I live on the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee, enjoying our mini farm with the most amazing view of hundreds of acres of wheat fields with the mountains as the backdrop.

When I was younger, I often scoffed at older people trying to share wisdom. Now I am that older person who realizes that so much of what I thought and believed was an illusion. The younger me was always chasing that carrot – and fearing the stick that inevitably was used regularly. Stress was high; family, friends and home came in a distant second to work; and there was little time for fun. After a few years out of the workforce, I see what is most important: loved ones, a happy home and the little day-to-day joys like watching a butterfly land on a flower. Or throwing the ball for my dogs to chase.

Over the years, I’ve been interested in healthy eating, preventing disease, reducing stress and staying strong. None of which was easy while working most waking hours. I am now on a mission to grow, acquire and serve the healthiest food available for my husband and myself. And I’d like to share that information with you so you too can feed yourself and your loved ones the best way possible.

I’m also on a mission to eliminate toxins from our daily lives wherever possible. Reducing the use of plastics, toxic cleaning chemicals, soaps loaded with chemicals, preservatives, additives, dyes, etc. I’ve done the research and I will share with you products to replace the old standards along with ways to acquire them.

I also write about my past, I write poetry and I even wrote a book of cat stories. I take a lot of photos. I always have my phone, so many are taken with that camera. But I also still have a digital SLR that I take with me when I hike, travel, or tour new places. I’d love to share this journey of my life with you. Hopefully you will find it entertaining, heartwarming, humorous and informative.

I invite you to come along on this journey of life. It isn’t always easy. But it’s always interesting and fulfilling. Feel free to leave comments or send me a note. I love hearing from you.
