A year has passed since we said our marriage vows

In a little log chapel near Gatlinburg Tennessee

With only the minister and the photographer and God as our witnesses

You handsome in a suit and me in one of my favorite dresses

The rain held off until after we were married

And we had fun photos taken outside the chapel

Walking around the gorgeous property

Laughing, kissing, holding hands and posing for the photographer

Standing in the decorated gazebo

Me sitting on the tree swing with you behind me

Leaning against the weathered split rail fence

And kissing in front of the pond

How quickly the year has flown by

We’ve bought our country dream house

The one I want to live in while growing old with you

We’ve started planting, landscaping, tearing down and fixing what needs fixed

Putting our own little touches on what now belongs to us

Our family has expanded to include two cats and a dog

Willa, Boone and Dixie have brought playfulness into our home

Life has changed so much in just a year

And I’m so very happy that you and I are sharing this journey of life

I can’t wait to see what this next year brings in our country living journey
